Stinky Baby Ear

Last night as I was nursing my sweet noonie off to sleep, I was leaning over nuzzling with his sweet hair and face as I usually do, and I noticed a bit of a...well....odor coming from his right ear. Weird. Not yummy. So, after I put him down I goodled "stinky baby ear" and came up with a few interesting answers (including a blog that made me laugh my pants off... google it! You'll laugh too!). Mainly that it can be infected, or it can be a buildup of earwax and sweat... eew. SO this morning when he woke up I found myself sniffing him like a hound dog trying to analyze whether or not I should call the doctor for his odoriffic lobe. I called. She indeed said it can be a symptom of an ear infection, and since the little moose had a cold last week I thought it could be a possibility. She wanted to see him this morning to check it out, and lucky for us it was the latter, an earful of stinky wax and sweat. Gross. He didn't even make a peep when she went fishing for wax (3 times) and eventually saw that his ear looked great. I was quite self concious that I don't clean my baby well enough, especially since I scrub him like a potato, ears and all. She assured me that you can't even get in there without special doctor tools and that there is nothing I can do about it. He's just a "wax producer." Lovely. The other ear looked great, so it looks like he's only half a "wax producer" I suppose. I'm hoping from this fantastic and slightly embarassing experience that our blog might show up when the next concerned parent googles "stinky baby ear."

As for the stats, which the grandmas love.... 16 lbs. 5.5 oz. and 25 1/2 inches long. Looks like we'll be shopping for a "big boy" carseat soon, as his only holds up to 26 inchers! I will post his pic on the scale when I get them off the camera.

picture as promised!

My Famous Husband

Check out my famous husband! This BIG ad ran in this week's newspaper promoting the United Way's Community Campaign Kickoff. He got to do a whole photoshoot! Craig is a member of the Atlantic Circle, a group of young professionals that donates their time and talents to children in the community through mentoring. They love him so much that they chose him to be the face of their campaign! I have the clipping on our fridge displayed proudly, and word has it that he will be on a BILLBOARD soon! He is also featured in their TV commercial! Way to go, babe!

Don't you just want to KISS that face?!?! If I had a nickel for every time this baby has been kissed, I would surely be RICH!

I absolutely love this picture of Abby and Lissie. Best friends or what?!

My Rising Star

Last Thursday night Craig and I attended an awards ceremony for the Florida Public Relations chapter here in Jacksonville. It was a lovely dinner at Maggiano's (and we left Porter with a sitter for the first time!). It was nice to have an evening out with just the two of us. After dinner they presented him the Rising Star award! Here is the speech that the President gave before giving him the award...

THE RISING STAR AWARD IS GIVEN TO A MEMBER WHO EXHIBITS INCREDIBLE POTENTIAL WITHIN THE CHAPTER AND THE PR FIELD. THIS YEAR’S RECIPIENT IS NO EXCEPTION. IN SPITE OF ALL THE DOMESTIC AND PROFESSIONAL CHALLENGES OUR LIVES THROW AT ALL OF US, HE HAS PERSERVERED, ACKNOWLEDGED REPEATEDLY BY HIS PEERS AND MANAGERS AS ONE OF THE SHARPEST PROFESSIONALS AROUND. THIS YEAR’S RISING STAR GOES TO CRAIG TERBLANCHE.

Congratulations, Honey! I am so proud of you!

Happy Anniversary, my love

Sorry this is a little late, honey, but I wanted to be sure to tell you, my sweet husband, how much I adore you, and how the last three years have been the best of my life. You are such an amazing man, and continue to get better and better through the years. I am so blessed to have you as my husband and as Porter's daddy. You have amazed me in your abilites as a husband and a father. You are the most dedicated man I know, always putting your family first and being concerned with our needs above anyone else's, including your own. I appreciate your hard work on our behalf.
Thank you for loving me in such a complete and amazing way. You have been such an important part in my life for so long, I absolutely could not imagine going even one hour without you here with me. I love you more that I could ever express, and I really am loving you more and more every day. I hope you feel like the most loved man on earth, because I can't imagine anyone having stronger feelings for another person than I do for you. I am SO in love with you, my baby. Happy 3rd Anniversary.

Welcome Auntie Shannon and family!

Craig's sister Shannon and her husband Mike and their 2 beautiful girls are in town visiting us! They are staying in Ormond Beach in a resort right on the ocean, and they were kind enough to get a 2 bedroom so we could come down and stay with them while they are here. We are having so much fun already, and we are especially loving seeing Alisa, Abby, and Porter together!

Meeting Auntie Shannon for the first time.

Reading a book with Auntie Shannon and cousin Abby.
Snoozing in the car on the way to Ormond Beach today, snuggling with my lovey from Granny.
OH MY GOSH! He has to be the cutest little bathing beauty... check out those matching sandals!
Getting ready to get in the pool for the first time!
Swimming with the family.
First dip! He loved it!
It got a little windy and chilly, so we opted for the indoor pool which was like bathwater. Much better!
Drying off. He was so happy! It was adorable!
Watching a little tv with Daddy.

11 week pictures

More pictures...woo hoo!

Craig helped out by taking Porter in the wee hours of the morning so I could shower before work. I came downstairs to this...how cute?!

I just wanna kiss those lips!!!
Checking out his fishies in the swing. Handsome boy!
This is the first pic I have of Christopher, Brooke, and Porter. Porter wasn't too happy, but two out of the three ain't bad.
This is what really goes on during the day...no, really, they are gentle and they love him so much!

10 week pictures

Sharing some pics from Porter's 10th week of life....

This is the only picture we have of Porter with Mila. Notice the tiny piece of ham I had to use to convince her to get close enough to him for a picture. Clever Mommy.

This is Brooke loving on Porter. She's not acutally making out with him, although that may be how it seems. She's just gingerly lying on his chest. She sure does love him!
Porter is just starting to really enjoy his bouncy chair, and sometimes even grabs the toys! What a big boy! He sits in there and smiles now...so nice to be able to put him down!
Chub-a-rific....need I say more?
